Substantial progress on social housing project comprising 267 apartments in Ħal Farruġ
Minister for Accommodation and Lands Owen Bonnici visited the new housing project currently underway in Ħal Farruġ, which will provide 267 new social housing apartments.
Covering around 10,000 square metres, the project represents an investment of approximately €45 million and will include one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, along with around 300 garages and parking spaces.
During the visit, Minister Bonnici reviewed the progress made on the project, which further strengthens investment in quality housing and offers more opportunities for vulnerable families to have a secure roof over their heads and a home that gives them dignity.
“A home is not simply four walls. It represents security, stability and a place where a family builds its life. An investment of this scale is therefore a direct investment in families and their future,” said Minister Bonnici.
The project forms part of ongoing efforts to create quality residential spaces that meet the needs of families and the community, while providing more vulnerable families with the assistance they need.
Also present during the visit were Permanent Secretary Ramon Deguara, Chief Executive Officer of Malita Marlene Attard, Chairman of the Housing Authority Robert Ducker, Chief Executive Officer of the Housing Authority Matthew Zerafa, Mayor of Ħal Luqa John Schembri and members of the Ħal Luqa Local Council.
