Recognition of Tenants

Recognition of Social Housing Tenants

Aim of the Service

The Recognition of Social Housing Tenants initiative allows eligible family members of deceased tenants who previously lived in government-owned dwellings to apply to become tenants of the property.

Family members must have lived with the deceased tenant for at least 5 years prior to their death and must satisfy the means-testing criteria set by the Housing Authority. In the case of married couples or individuals in a civil union who are not legally separated, both parties must submit the application together.
