Pension Incentive Scheme

The Housing Authority offers a financial incentive to elderly Social Housing tenants who move into a residential care home and voluntarily return their property to the Housing Authority.

Eligible participants who move into:

• A government residential care home will benefit from a 20% reduction in the portion of their pension contribution allocated to care home fees.
• A private residential care home will receive financial assistance of €500 per year for a period of five years.

Applicants may apply for this incentive by contacting the Housing Authority’s Customer Care via email at customer.care.ha@ha.gov.mt. Following initial contact, an appointment is scheduled to complete the necessary documentation.

This initiative not only supports a smoother transition for the elderly but also enables the immediate reallocation of social housing units to others in need.
