Works Underway in Ħal Kirkop on New Housing Project of 89 Apartments

Work starts on a new housing project for vulnerable families in Ħal Kirkop

Minister for Accommodation and Lands Owen Bonnici visited the site of a new housing project for vulnerable families in Ħal Kirkop. The project will consist of 89 apartments across eight residential blocks. It will also include around 70 garage and parking spaces.

Minister Owen Bonnici said that this project forms part of ongoing efforts to further increase housing opportunities for vulnerable families in Malta.

“Decent housing is important for providing families and individuals with greater stability and peace of mind. Through this investment in Ħal Kirkop, we will be adding 89 new apartments, which, once completed, can be allocated in accordance with the Housing Authority’s procedures. This project reflects our commitment to continuing to invest in housing for vulnerable families and creating more opportunities for those who require housing support,” said Minister Bonnici.

The project will involve an investment of around €8.2 million, covering excavation works, construction, mechanical and electrical installations, as well as finishing works. This estimate does not include the cost of lifts.

Excavation works are currently underway at the site, representing an important stage in preparing the area for the next phase of the project, namely the construction phase.

Also present during the visit were the CEO of Housing Projects Solutions, Architect Thomas Tanti, Housing Authority Chairman Robert Ducker, Ħal Kirkop Mayor Matthew Agius Zammit, and members of the Ħal Kirkop Local Council.
