Social Housing

Social housing is more than just providing a roof over one’s head—it lays the foundation for personal stability and community well-being.

One of the Housing Authority’s primary roles is to provide a safety net for low-income households through the allocation of social housing, ensuring stable and affordable accommodation while fostering social inclusion by prioritising individuals and families facing financial and social difficulties.

In 2024, the Authority made over 550 new housing allocations, with the housing stock consisting primarily of government-owned properties, supplemented by around 20% leased from the private sector and Malita by the end of the year.
