Exchange of Social Accommodation

The Exchange of Social Accommodation initiative provides an opportunity for tenants living in social accommodation to submit a request to exchange their residence, provided that valid and reasonable grounds exist. 

Tenants are eligible if they have lived in their current home for at least 3 years, have no outstanding rent or ARMS bill payments, and provide a valid reason for the request. 

The Housing Authority considers the following reasons to be valid: 

• Difficult relationships with neighbours, supported by police reports or; 

• An increase in family size or; 

• Mobility issues or; 

• Request for a smaller residence or; 

• To live closer to family members, which will assist them with daily needs.
