Aim of the Scheme
The Sir Sid Darek Scheme encourages tenants living in eligible social housing properties to purchase their home and continue using it as their primary residence, thereby becoming homeowners.
Tenants with assets not exceeding €150,000 are eligible for a 50% subsidy on the sale price. Tenants whose assets exceed this limit can still purchase their residence at a commercial price without benefiting from the subsidy.
